April 12th, 2006: Drawing Room

Drawing Room
1800 Hillhurst Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90027

Best known as "that place across the street from Ye Old Rustic Inn", most tour attendees find the Drawing Room far superior to its Los Feliz neighbor where it counts. Although, unlike the Ye Old Rustic, Drawing Room rarely offers visitors the opportunity to see Kiefer Sutherland blackout drunk and picking fights with teamsters at 10am, the Drawing Room does have a filthy George Foreman grill in the corner with an open BYOM policy. No dive bar attendee has ever actually brought meat to the Drawing Room, but like the never-touched Golden Tee 2000 in the corner, it’s a comforting feeling to know it’s there.

Drinks at Drawing Room are served stiff and cheap by a large-breasted barmaid, and the regulars are truly some of the most friendly and sociable that LA has to offer.

As usual, the casual debauchery starts around 9pm and gets really interesting by 10:00. Come for one drink, or stay for one too many, bring anyone and everyone, and join us for a great time in the middle of the week. If you arrive early or late, look for the people having a damn good time (it’ll be us), or start having a damn good time on your own (we’ll find you).

Carpe Drinkem,

Alex, Damien & Travis, WDBT Co-Czars

"A woman drove me to drink and I didn’t even have the decency to thank her."

The World Dive Bar Tour is your bi- weekly, Wednesday night stop for adventure, drinks, and professional networking in Los Angeles. 2011 will offer an eclectic lineup of seedy and swanky joints to soften your liver and relax your inhibitions, and an in-your-face assortment of auxiliary events, just in case 25 different bars in one year wasn't enough.
